Yes. And that would be my guess as well. Replacing the stock catalytic made a huge difference. I bet if I would have dyno'ed with that I wouldn't have seen full boost till probably 5000-5200 RPM's. Believe me a 50 trim on a completely stock exhaust royaly sucks.
