My buddy without the modifer has a cold start oil pressure of 90 and above with the DCR pick-up tube.
My pressure is only sitting around 70 on a cold start at idle. I have a custom pick-up with the screen area opened up but other than that it's still stock. Maybe the people seeing gains are the ones who already have that custom pick-up tube and need to slow the flow down?? Don't know,....it's just a thought. Would it benefit me to run a lighter weight rather than the 20-50(Break-In) I'm running right now, if I got this mod??
Does not effect the results at all. Same gains with or without. The DCR pick up tube does not "ram" the oil into the head but simply keeps the oil pump from cavitating and starving itself for oil under demand. The oil pressures remain the same though with and without the pick up tube. If you show a difference in oil pressure it could be a difference in oil brand, weight, oil filter; miles on oil, difference in oil pressure gauges;sending units and wear in the engine. Gains are with or without the pick up tube and are the same.
Thanks
