Default PTP STAGE 3 CLUTCH (you know you want it!)

yup.... needed a clutch, talked to John (who's always honest and helpful) about which to choose from (from his selection of 4 or 5)..

i decided on the stage 3 clutch (my goal is ~450ft lbs only at track/dyno tune) instead of the stage 4....

order was made on a friday, clutch was received on monday, which is waaay fast, especially for USPS priority.....

had a minor issue which John was quick to circumvent and help fix...

clutch went in... didnt do the install as the write-up states.... yanked the bellhousing off prior to taking the clutch off the flywheel..... (a lot easier to do it this way)..

installing the clutch, i put the clutch on the flywheel prior to bolting the bellhousing on..... (much easier to do, especially if you didnt line the clutch up properly..)

after the first 200 miles, only going WOT for about 20-30 seconds (passing cars, no racing...) all pretty much in 3rd gear, clutch feels fine...

after 300 miles, did a 0-60 run.. left severe tire marks down a side street, showing my shift point from 1st to 2nd....

clutch grabs hard..... and the transition from stock to an upgraded clutch didnt have much difference in clutch pedal "feel"....
BUT....when it grabs...it grabs.. not slippy/sloppy like the stock clutch... but still grabs within the bottom 2-3 inches from the floor... (and i dont have to stretch from using more force)

i will update the thread at 1000 miles and after track/dyno pulls once i have some small tooooonin issues worked out

cheers to PTP for a great product... any specific questions, ask in the thread so it can be used for future reference...

p.s. dont let your buddy fall asleep when re=installin the bellhousing/transmission.... bench-pressing the transmission (car on jack stands) is a PITA......... especially when no-one is there to guide you onto the shaft.......
