That's how it was for me when I had run just off the WGA, and had boost leaks also.
Fix the leaks, and use a MBC to get the spool up. You'll love it
I'm scared to use my mbc...
All I can get here is shitty 92, so I'll have to wait till I get my w/i installed in about 2 or 3 weeks before upping the boost.
But you are right, I love the new turbo, especially when the wga starts to dump
