1. clipping the wheel does introduce lag. you loose some of the suface area on the turbine wheel, for exhaust gases to push along. plus you are giving the air a pocket to get around the wheel. however, this is why you clip it. to allow more air to get around the turbine wheel. the larger wheel is also going to hurt spool up as well. is it possiable to throw the stage3 TiAl wheel in and clip that, as opposed to the inconel evo wheel? that wil help make up some of that lag

2. the further you clip, the more lag there will be, but the more power will be able to be made. john may know more...no, he does know more, about the specifics, but as far as i know. the only way to tell is if it lags to 5k you clipped too much. and remember to balance after machining!!!!!!

3. are you refering to the surging issues or the increased IAT issues






oh and john, did you get a chance to measure that snail up. i have had some people ask me questions, and i would love to beable to use this reference as a guide to help make you some sales
