the Evo 8 compressorhousing and the S3 compressorhousing are nearly idenical for volume = A/R value

the Evo 8 compressor housing, even with the stock 16G comp wheel was notorious for experiencing compressor surge issues, and temp issues

installing a 20G wheel into a S3 comp housing will only greatly increase those issues...

..thus, they re-designed and came out with the much more generous (larger) Evo 9 comp housing, due to those issues
