COMMERCE, Ga. (May 5, 2006) - Pro Stock Rookie Shaun Carlson returns to Atlanta Dragway this weekend, the same track where he recently completed a successful test before the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series event last weekend in Bristol, Tenn. The blonde spike-haired Southern Californian made several passes in the 6.80-second range, marking one of his best set of runs thus far.
Carlson believes the Team Mopar/SRT Dodge Stratus R/T he drives for Don Schumacher Racing will benefit from the recent test and do well at this weekend's Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals. "We have a lot of data from testing here last week. I think that will be a big advantage for us, as we won't have to guess on a setup heading into qualifying," he says.
He also says another week at the track working with new crew chief David Nickens will be a plus, "I think the team is working well together with all of the changes: new people, new parts, and the learning curve involved with that. We'll look to keep that momentum in Atlanta."
