It's easy. Just pull the intake pipe off and stick your finger on the center of the turbine wheel and move it side to side. There will be some play so don't be alarmed if you have some but if you have alot of play that can be a sign of bad things to come. Mitsubishi turbos are pretty robust compared to Garretts so unless you use an aftermarket BOV or have the above mentioned wastegate problem our cars aren't old enough to have to worry about premature turbo failure.
