***POLL***Broken input shaft***POLL***
I have seen very few people that have broken an input shaft, but of the very few, all have been cars that have a build date of approximately August to december of 03. But that's only about 4 cars I know of so far.
I am trying to get a compilation of all people on the forums who have broken an input shaft to see if there may have been a time period in which the shafts could have been weaker for one reason or another.
I just got through breaking my input shaft doing a WOT shift from 2-3 gear. Now I am scared to ever shift like that again, but if enough info. comes back indicating that the later 03 srt-4's are more prone to this problem than the other time frames, then my worries as well as many other people's worries may decrease as to whether we should worry about this problem.
The more info. the better. If you have a friend that owns an SRT-4 and has broken their input shaft, but doesn't frequent the forums, see if you can get the build date of his/her car and post it up for all to see.
Edit: Also, if you have mods on your car, post them somewhere in the thread so that we can get an idea of about what power levels are breaking the shafts. Post miles on your car when the shaft broke as well.
