I definately think that if you have little no plans of tracking your car any suspension mods are mostly for looks and will more than likely get you hurt than save your life. REGARDLESS of what other people will say in response to this. If you using your stock suspension to its max then you are driving to fast/hard for even a performance set up while your on the street. No amount of baddass suspension work is going to make you SEE something that is going to kill you when you are driving 8/10ths ability or more. AKA water puddle in on off ramp, retarted driver in the other lane pulling in front of you, car that turns without looking.
On the brakes part I used to race Karts and SoloX and brakes are somewhat an overated ROOKY thing. My step dad most likely has the FASTEST new body MR2 in all of SOLOX almost nothing is stock: fully built motor, $2k dampers, no windshield, roll cage, its sick but STOCK BRAKES nappa pads... You may ask yourself why??? well because nappa sells a pad that is as good as EAGLE HPs and until that car sees the BIG TRACKS stock brakes are MORE than adequete.
Im not saying that NO ONE should upgrade their brakes I am saying that they just arent as important as people claim. I have upgraded the brakes on my race car but that is because it makes over 4x the power of the original motor and was never designed to be good at braking in the first place.
So in the interest of BASIC UPGRADES unless your planning on running this thing out at laguna Save your money for GAS it will give you a lot more pleasure than HEY MAN CHECK OUT MY BREAKS my car is still slow but DUDE LOOK AT THE BRAKES
Did I mention the majority of people who upgrade their brakes have SHOW CARS.
I know this will cause a lot of contreversy especially from the people who dont know what they are talking about. But face it 90% of drivers dont have the SKILL + GUTS to run 10/10ths ability gas and brake the ones who do probably would agree with me. That most people 90+% dont need better brakes
AND IF YOU WANT BETTER SUSPENSION BRAKES FOR CHEAP... Learn how to use what you got IF YOU HIT THE BRAKES HARDER you will brake harder... I never knew how well one of my cars could brake on the track until I had an instructor take me in MY own car. I felt sick after the ride. GO TO SCHOOOL and you will learn why brakes are overated for most of you. For suspension... Definately helps with tracks and more importantely on our cars it will get rid of certain QUIRCKS that may make it unconfrontable for you to push the car that far.

You said what I wrote was "reDICKulous".
Then you back it up with everything you wrote.
I was being sarcastic

Nah. Most of the people that really care about that stuff will know to go to the Braking/Suspensions forum. I think, people that ignore the brakes/suspension, and just concentrate on the driveline, will end up with a wrecked car and/or dead, so I agree it should be high on the list. Right after driving school.
You're right! This is the wrong forum to go into an indepth debate about this subject, my post was merely a poke at 90% of the people that are on this forum that ignore the possible performance gains. Some smarten up and make it to Suspension/Brakes or Autocross/Road Racing and start asking the newbie questions even though they have been around the forum for years.
BTW- Stock brakes are only decent for apprx. 1 1/2 laps before 8/10s have you with 4 off. Unless you are auto-xing.
Uncomfortable? Yah,

that's why people upgrade their suspension. How about lower CG and/or geometry etc..njshift said it best>
