It's quite possible that I'm talking out of my ass, but it was my understanding that brake dust is from the pads - the brake fluid just functions to transfer pressure to the calipers, which will get closer to the disc as the pad is worn away. If this is wrong, I would love to hear from an experienced person how it does function.....
brake dust is from pads. The fluid doesn't get used up. As the brake pads get thinner, the piston in the caliper moves out, increasing the volume inside the caliper, increasing the volume of the system, and it *looks* like you've lost fluid. Put new pads back in and it will be full again....
